Although we can't dismantle racism in one session, we can begin to define it's foundation and explore how it affects the employees we interact with. We will learn to develop an anti-racist lens in our organization through discussion and application highlighting Anti-Blackness. This frame of reference will serve as the catalyst to provide exceptional experiences for all.
After we have developed shared understandings through “Defining an Anti-Racist Environment” we will begin to focus on strategy. We will recognize structural inequities and learn how to create and foster a culture that values racial equity. By examining current policies, procedures, and practices, we will produce environments where all employees can thrive.
Cultivating Better Tomorrows’ Racial Healing Circles provide a safe space to listen and express emotions without fear of judgement. Under the guidance of facilitators, participants can begin to understand the perspectives of others and develop deeper connections to their community. Intricately woven into the session, the racial component is present, though not at the forefront of the conversation. This purposefully reminds us that we all have painful experiences and reaffirms the humanity in all of us. Circles lift up what unites us rather than what divides us while discovering, respecting, and honoring the unique experiences of each person.
